Shanghai Shenhuo Aluminium Foil Co., Ltd’s aluminium production facility has been certified against Aluminium Stewardship Initiative’s Chain of Custody Standard. The certification includes the manufacture of aluminium and aluminium alloy foils.
The foil facility was also certified to the ASI Performance Standard in February 2019.

The ASI Certification program is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The independent, third-party audit of the Shanghai Shenhuo Aluminium Foil Co., Ltd’s facilities was carried out by DNV GL.

The foil packaging sector in China has shown a strong commitment to ASI and sustainability issues. We are also looking forward to Shanghai Shenhuo’s upcoming smelting capacity becoming part of the ASI Certified community in future.”
Frank Chen, Managing Director of Shanghai Shenhuo Aluminium Foil Co., Ltd said: “SHENHUO Group has just built up a new hydro power smelter in Yunnan province, China, to transfer the 900,000MT Aluminium Smelter Capacity from coal power to hydro power, showing its ambitions towards sustainable development.”
