Metals and plastics recycling company Schupan & Sons Incorporated is planning to invest $10.1 million at two locations in Kalamazoo with support from the Michigan Strategic Fund, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation said.
The company is adding 40,000 square feet and 50 employees to its aluminium and plastic sales division over the next three years. The aluminium and plastic sales division is a leading Midwestern metals service center specializing in a full line of new aluminium and plastic mill products. The division, headquartered in Kalamazoo, utilizes state-of-the-art technology, producing complex components for the medical device, aerospace, and office furniture industries.

Schupan & Sons is also expanding electronics recycling division and adding 30 employees over the next three years
Both projects will increase the existing manufacturing capacities and add needed office space. Schupan & Sons has been awarded a $500,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant.

Schupan & Sons operaes five divisions throughout Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Ohio: electronics recycling, industrial recycling, beverage container processing, materials trading, and aluminium and plastic sales.
