Kautec Solutions, a specialised manufacturer and seller of all types of aluminium extrusion equipment has joined hands with Safespill, the world’s leading provider of ecologically friendly fire protection solutions. The deal will supply Safespill with a highly automated aluminium extrusion line, which will amplify the productivity of Safespill floor production.
Kautec will upgrade its end-to-end solutions for new builds and current retrofits of commercial and US military aircraft hangars. The system will be installed in early 2023 at Safespill’s headquarters in Houston, Texas, and will be completely operational by the middle of the year.
Safespill's prompt and effective delivery of Safespill floors, also known as ILDFAs, will be solidified by around-the-clock manufacturing capabilities that will allow production capacity to expand to a maximum of 200 hangar projects each year.
This new extrusion press, which is in line with Safespill's environmental goals, will drastically lower the product's carbon footprint by up to 25 per cent when compared to outdated extrusion lines used elsewhere in the industry.
Safespill will be able to acquire certified recycled aluminium alloy billets – green aluminium – higher up the supply chain thanks to its in-house capabilities. As a consequence, fire and environmental protection will operate together in ways that haven't been seen before in the sector.
"What is significant about our investment is its value to our clients, particularly Safespill's U.S. military clients, by minimizing potential bottlenecks in the manufacturing process. It will allow Safespill to continue delivering environmentally safe, chemical-free fire protection systems while being less dependent on suppliers struggling to meet market demand for aluminum extrusions,” said the CEO of Safespill, Tristan Mackintosh.
