
S.A. Damm has joined Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) as a new Industrial User member. This brings the total number of ASI Members to 134.

“Damm’s commitment to responsible sourcing is at the heart of our ambition to minimise our impact on society and the environment by delivering top-quality products and services. The Damm value chain has a material impact on our sustainability performance and by joining ASI, we will enhance the sustainability credentials of our aluminium beverage cans, ensuring high social, environmental and governance standards. We consider this to be a major milestone that keeps us moving forward on our industry-leading sustainability journey,” the company said.
Damm, founded in 1876 by the Alsatian brewing master August Kuentzmann Damm, is one of the main leaders in the food and beverage trade, with a presence in the hospitality, logistics and distribution ones.
The company, which has 16 production plants in the Iberian Peninsula, produces and packs more than 19M hectoliters of beer, water, soft drinks, milk and shakes. Its turnover reached 1,385 million euros in 2019.
