Crafted by the innovations of two major German engineers, making the impossible possible. The Swiss furniture company Vitro and a luxury luggage and bag manufacturer, Rimowa, recreated their former aluminium suitcase to aid people with aesthetic sitting stools and toolboxes.
Thanks to aluminium, the master of converting travel mobility into a seater of living spaces has finally come to light. The luggage that transforms into a seat for a full-grown person is made with a signature grooved aluminium exterior allied with Rimowa's Multiwheel system, making it easier to move around.
The toolbox design, designed by Arik Levy in 2010, aids in making an effective desktop organiser. Before this innovation, desktop organisers were made of recycled plastic, but now they will be made out of Rimowa's signature anodised aluminium shell with a recycled fabric lining. This gives a shoutout to aluminium, a premium material that elevates the most utilitarian objects.

Emelie De Vitis, Senior Vice President of Product and Marketing at Rimowa, stated, "The stool, upholstered in Vitra's fabric and designed with a trolley-style interior, offers a fresh take on mobile furniture; it sits on wheels just like a Rimowa suitcase and can easily move around a space."
As both firms hold a premium position within the market and use premium metals, the products are expected to have premium pricing. Moreover, these products are limited edition and only 1000 stools and 100 toolboxes are available on the market.
The aluminium stool is priced at USD 2,700, whereas the toolbox is set at USD 625. These products will be live for purchase from June 18, 2025. It's uncommon to witness two giants from their respective domains collaborate and the products born from this partnership are nearly rare.
