Just as the race for greener packaging heats up, a newly emerged deal arrives as a chill can straight off the line. Re:Water, a premium aluminium bottled-water brand, has joined hands with Ball Corporation for a five-year, eight-figure supply agreement. This partnership underscores Ball’s long-standing partnership, as well as providing an extended support to the bottled-water brand to expand its operation across retail, hospitality channels and catering.

As a part of the agreement that both companies signed, the Corporation will be providing the brand with 10 million aluminium bottles to address the growing demand, as well as supporting its commitment to maintaining circular-economic packaging. Mainly sourced from Europe and the UK, the brand makes use of 100 per cent recycled aluminium with the aim of minimising carbon footprint and eliminating the need for long-distance imports.
Bottles of the brand are designed in a way that enables infinite recyclability, where consumers can refill and reuse them. This positions the brand as a premium alternative to single-use plastics, glass and cartons. Moreover, at the start of this year, the brand bagged the King’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation, the only UK company out of 46 to get this recognition in 2025.

After its inception in 2021 and being owned by Berrington Pure Spring Water, the bottled-water brand witnessed swift growth and has sold more than 12 million bottles. Its products are supplied to 5 thousand UK outlets, which include The National Trust, David Lloyd Leisure, Cornish Bakery, LW Theatres, The Eden Project, M&S, Pret and the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse.
Victoria Marletta, Commercial Vice-President, Personal & Home Care at Ball Corporation, stated, “Our purpose is clear: to unlock the infinite potential of aluminium to advance a world free from waste. Customers want solutions that deliver enduring value — effective and responsible packaging. By collaborating closely with partners, we’re developing scalable aluminium formats that cut waste, lower emissions and protect product quality. We’ve worked with Re:Water for many years and have watched the brand grow significantly. Their commitment to genuine sustainability sets them apart, and their King’s Award this year reinforces their leadership in the UK market.”
Matt Crocker, Director at Re:Water, stated, “This is one of our largest ever agreements and a major milestone for the business. Ball is a trusted partner, and this contract secures the next stage of our growth. Since launch, we’ve seen sustained high double-digit growth, which shows consumers are demanding better packaging choices. For us, using 100 per cent recycled aluminium that’s locally sourced is non-negotiable — anything else risks greenwashing. Our aim is to remain the most sustainable bottled-water product on the market, with one of the lowest carbon footprints in the sector.”
With this development, Re:Water is positioned at the front line of sustainable beverage packaging with innovation and reinforcements aiming to reduce the use of single-use plastic via the circular-economy design.
