After multiple rounds of research, development and trial production, Qinghai Investment Guoxin Aluminium Company successfully manufactured high-performance, high zinc, and high copper aluminium alloy 7M55 cast rods on December 4th. 7M55 is a recently developed aluminium alloy brand that clients of the Guoxin Aluminium Industry have designated to fulfil specified performance criteria.

It has extreme strength, superior toughness, and outstanding corrosion resistance, making it very promising in the market. The alloying degree of this material is very high, reaching 15 per cent, which is 5 per cent more than the alloying degree of the seven series ultra-hard aluminium alloy typically used in regular manufacturing.
The high quantities of iron, copper, zinc, and zinc magnesium ratio pose significant challenges in the manufacturing process. There are few instances of successful business trial manufacturing in China.
The research and development team of the Guoxin Aluminium Industry collaborated closely with frontline workers throughout the trial production process. They overcame challenges by continuously improving the alloy composition, adjusting process routes, and resolving multiple technical bottlenecks. They also achieved breakthroughs in key technical issues, such as fast crystallisation speed, high forming difficulty, and the tendency for casting rods to crack.
The casting rods were cast successfully, ensuring high quality and crack-free results through ultrasonic testing. Additionally, they underwent sampling and testing of low magnification and microstructure to safeguard their physical and chemical properties and fully meet customer requirements. This has established a solid basis for large-scale production and widespread application.
