Prism Designs has come up with their latest accessory for Apple iMac called Float Shelf, which is an aluminium panel that can be attached to the back of your iMac. The smart accessory would provide a handy stand for de cluttering the work desk.
In words of Prism Designs Float Shelf is machined “from a solid extrusion of aircraft-grade aluminium, a Float Shelf is strong enough to support ten pounds (4.5 kg).” Smart use of lightweight and strong aluminium makes the accessory equally attractive as the iMac.

The Shelf can be used for displaying items like photo frames, small speakers, routers etc.
Float Shelf sports an “elegant tapered profile and anodized finish beautifully complement an iMac’s minimalist aesthetic.” The uniqueness of Float Shelf lies in its finish which is very similar to the Apple product.

No visible logo in the chassis makes it look unofficial. The shelf with its curvy design and solid feel matches the quality of the aluminium base that holds the iMac up.
Installation is very simple as the Float Shelf slides over the top of the iMac’s stand and settles firm in its place. A rubber padding is added to prevent any aluminium from making contact to the iMac. When installed, Float Shelf looks like a natural extension of the iMac’s own stand. The Float Shelf is not visible from the front angle.
The sides the Float Stand can be slightly tapped to adjust its fitting during installation and to maintain the balance. Overall, the Float Shelf is a very solid product to fit into an Apple Store. The quality of the aluminium chassis is top rated and it had no negative effect on the design and finish of the attached iMac.
