In January, the primary aluminium production in West Europe had clocked at 284,000 tonnes, while in East and Central Europe at 356,000 tonnes.

The above data shows that primary aluminium production in both West Europe and East and Central Europe declined in February and April.

In the total first five months of 2020, the Western part of Europe produced nearly 1.40 million tonnes of primary aluminium, while the Eastern and Central Europe churned 1.73 million tonnes.

Year-on-year, West Europe’s primary aluminium production during January-May 2020 edged lower by 4.11 per cent from 1.46 million tonnes. East and Central Europe, however, saw a rise of 1.76 per cent in production during the same period from 1.70 million tonnes.
