According to the Shanghai Metals Market, social inventories of primary aluminium in China have continued to decrease week-on-week across eight major consumption areas, including SHFE warrants. Data shows the inventories have plunged by 65,000 tonnes this week to come in at 799,000 tonnes as of December 30.
SMM data has also shown that decline in inventories at Wuxi, Nanhai, and Gongyi have primarily contributed to the extended downfall of total primary aluminium inventories.
