According to the Shanghai Metals Market, the prebaked anode price in East China has recorded a hike of RMB 180 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,930 per tonne on August 3, marking a rise in the last one month since an increase of RMB 80 per tonne to RMB 2,750 per tonne on July 1, 2020. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 2,760-3,100 per tonne.
In the central, the price has grown by RMB 235 per tonne to come in at RMB 3,045 per tonne on August 3. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 2,890-3,200 per tonne.
But despite the surge in the prebaked anode price, the A00 aluminium ingot price has shrunk by RMB 110 per tonne to RMB 14,880 per tonne, as of August 3, following a restraint at RMB 14,990 per tonne on July 31. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 14,860 per tonne and RMB 14,900 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 20-60 per tonne, down by RMB 40 per tonne from the previous day.
In Shenyang, the A00 aluminium ingot price has declined by RMB 120 per tonne to come in at RMB 14,835 per tonne, followed by Foshan and Chongqing, where the aluminium ingot price has decreased by RMB 110 per tonne to RMB 14,830 per tonne and RMB 14,770 per tonne, respectively. The price in Wuxi has plunged by RMB 100 per tonne to RMB 14,890 per tonne, while that in Gongyi and Hangzhou has inched down by RMB 95 per tonne and RMB 80 per tonne to RMB 14,770 per tonne and RMB 14,910 per tonne.
In response to the downfall in A00 aluminium ingot price, the price of aluminium alloy (A356) has decreased by RMB 100 per tonne to RMB 15,500 per tonne. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 15,450 per tonne and RMB 15,550 per tonne. The prices of aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) have, however, remained restrained at RMB 14,000 per tonne and RMB 14,900 per tonne, respectively.
Among the other primary aluminium input costs, the Australian alumina FOB price has recorded a downfall of US$ 2 per tonne to come in at US$ 273 per tonne on August 3.
The price of aluminium powder has registered a fall of RMB 0.10 per kg to stand at RMB 18.45 per kg.
