
Poland imported US$230.5 billion worth of goods from around the globe in 2017. Aluminium represents 5.7 per cent of the total imports of the country. Norway is one of the top aluminium suppliers to Poland. Poland imported an estimated 177734 tonnes of aluminium from Norway in 2017.
Other top countries which supplied aluminium to the country were Russian Federations, Netherlands, Sweden, and United Arab Emirates among others.

On a quarterly basis, Poland imported an estimated 205928 tonnes of aluminium in the third quarter of 2017 (July- September), and in fourth quarter of 2017, the volume stood at about 203738 tonnes. Poland imported aluminium worth US$ 419 million and US$ 409 million in third and fourth quarter of 2017 respectively.

In the first quarter of 2018, estimated aluminium import stood at 201001 tonnes and the cost of aluminium import stood at USD 389 million. In second and third quarter, Poland is estimated to import 254851 tonnes and 236782 tonnes of aluminium respectively. The cost of aluminium import is estimated to be US$ 500 million and US$ 465 million.
The country’s aluminium import is projected to reach 234205 tonnes in the fourth quarter of 2018. The cost of aluminium import is estimated to be US$ 455 million in Q4 2018.
