
Peru’s mining-driven economy, one of the hardest-hit by the coronavirus pandemic, is expected to contract 12% in 2020, the deepest plunge in three decades. The country hasn’t seen such a hit since a 12.3% contraction in 1989, said Marţa Antonieta Alva, Minister of Economy and Finance.

The Andean country’s import of aluminium household articles during 2018-19 was recorded at 1605 tonnes and the expenditure stood at 48.60 million. The import for 2020 is marked to remain at 2931 tonnes and the expenditure to sand at $11.86 million. However, when the import volume and expenditure for the import of 2020 gets footed by the existing two years, it denotes 4536 tonnes and $20.46 million respectively.

Peru’s import of aluminium household articles in 2018 remained at 477 tonnes only and the expenditure occurred stood at $2.70 million, whereas, in 2019, the import saw growth by 136.47%, as the import volume rose to 1128 tonnes and the expenditure accounted for $5.90 million.
The import for 2020 is also spotlighted with up-rise by 159.84%, as the import volume to shot up at 2931 tonnes and the expenditure to stand at $11.86 million.
The major trading destinations for Peru’s importation of aluminium household articles are Brazil, China, Colombia, France, Ecuador, Italy, USA, etc.
