Oddbox, a green organisation that aims to reduce food waste from active farms, has recently partnered with Penrhos Spirits to launch a refreshing new spirit flavoured with cucumber and apple. In an attempt to induce sustainable practices, Oddbox’s Cucumber and Apple Gin will be packed in 100% recyclable aluminium bottles by Penrhos.
Oddbox excels in collecting waste elements from country firms all over London, the South and the Midlands. The company then runs those items through special processes to extract brand-new edible products.
The Cucumber and Apple Gin contains Oddbox’s collected farm fruits, which have been cleaned, distilled and packed in sustainable aluminium bottles by Herefordshire-based Penrhos Spirits. This alliance is by far one of the most commendable accomplishments in the end-user sector, as its production process does not overlook recycling needs.
Moreover, the confluence has its own heritage as Penrhos Spirits also make its flagship drinks with rejected fruits from the market. Rejected means; the fruits are not sellable because of inherent defects like pores on the peel, scarred outlook, or the size being imperfect.
Oddbox has a sustainable objective of saving food waste by sorting and collecting usable fruits and vegetables that would have been conventionally directed towards the landfill.
Aluminium has the amazing quality of retaining its original properties even after rigorous recycling rounds while keeping carbon emissions in check. Penrhos’ 100% recycled aluminium bottles present the perfect example of sustainability in the beverage packaging industry since they are completely recyclable, reusable and refillable.
The use of aluminium bottles is also brilliant because it will help keep the tangy yet icy outburst of cucumbers and apples intact, with the perfect level of fizz you need in a cocktail mix.
But the only update worth noting is that only 500 special edition aluminium bottles contain this zingy new flavoured gin, so if you are a collector or just a casual cocktail lover, it’s high time you begin your search.
