Orbite Aluminae names Yves Noël as VP sales and marketing

Orbite Aluminae Inc., developer of the Gaspé alumina project due on stream late in 2012, has named Yves Noël as vice-president of sales and marketing.
Noël has more than 20 years of marketing experience in the fine chemicals sector with companies such as Sandoz, Akzo Nobel and Clariant.He holds degrees from Université Laval and Université du Québec à Montréal.
Orbite has also awarded the engineering contract for a key part of the alumina production process to Finland-based global mining and metallurgical technology specialist Outotec. The contract covers the calcination process and associated hydrochloric acid recovery.
Orbite plans to convert Gaspé aluminous clays into high-grade alumina, the intermediate material in smelting aluminum, using its own patented process.
