Optima Systems is an industry leader in making commercial partitions. Starting from November 1; it will use Hydro CIRCAL as a raw material for producing its glass and aluminium partitions, and doors.
Hydro CIRCAL runs a monopoly in the UK market where no other product can match its specifications. Other than Hydro’s self-constructions, Optima will be the first establishment in the UK to adopt Hydro CIRCAL for its operations, formally leading the circular revolution.
The Norwegian aluminium and energy brand, Hydro has generated a type of aluminium which constitutes 75 per cent recycled, post-usage scrap that leaves significantly lesser carbon footprints on the planet than the production of primary aluminium. Recycling aluminium requires only 5 per cent of the energy necessary to yield primary aluminium, ultimately saving the company a lot of power-related expenses.
Moreover, the discovery of Hydro CIRCAL also has initiated the company’s circular economy programmes, which is dearly encouraged by Optima’s commercial module. The incorporation of Hydro CIRCAL in making the aluminium partitions and doors will catapult Optima in realising its dreams of achieving Net Zero by 2030 or 2035.
The Managing Director of Optima Products, Christian Mabey, expresses his views on this collaboration: “We have worked closely with Hydro to ensure we use aluminium with the maximum recycled content available and the lowest embodied carbon. This has led to our decision to completely overhaul our supply chain and introduce Hydro CIRCAL across our entire range of products.”
Mabey narrates: “By using this new innovative product, we can guarantee a CO2 footprint below 2.3kg per 1kg of aluminium produced. We have been monitoring the impact of our products through the third-party accredited Environmental Product Declarations (EPD)s for some time, and this move to Hydro CIRCAL extends our ability to minimise the environmental impact of our products; working alongside Hydro to enhance the entire value chain”.
Hydro CIRCAL will definitely be useful for Optima’s brand image as the future glass and aluminium partitions, and doors will contain green aluminium, showcasing the company’s commitment to a sustainable economy.
