Actual production through the first five months of 2017 totalled 1,640,433 tonnes, down 3.8 % YoY. Despite the drop in primary production, secondary recovery and downstream shipments are increasing in both the U.S. and Canada. Demand situation is strong and the protective policies of the present government is creating a positive vibe among the producers.
