NALCO-operated Panchpatmali Bauxite Mine has secured the prestigious Greentech Quality and Innovation Awards 2022 for its outstanding achievements in the 'Quality Improvement in Processes' category. Greentech Foundation presented the award during its occasion at Taj Vivanta, Guwahati.

Greentech Quality and Innovations Awards have been instituted to encourage and motivate to boost improvements and implementation of processes in manufacturing process/service delivery aligned to stakeholders. Greentech "Quality and Innovation Awards" is presented to companies/organizations to recognize their outstanding achievements in total quality and innovation.

On Panchpatmali hills of Koraput district in Odisha, a fully mechanized opencast mine has been operating since November 1985, serving feedstock to Alumina Refinery at Damanjodi located on the foothills. At present, Mines can produce 68.25 lakh TPA. At 1154 to 1366 meters above mean sea level, the Panchpatmali plateau is situated. Bauxite occurs over the entire length of the Panchpatmali plateau, which spans over 18 km.

Nalco is one of the largest integrated Bauxite-Alumina-Aluminium-Power Complex in India. Currently, the Government of India holds 51.28% of paid-up equity capital. As a part of the green initiative, NALCO has installed 198 MW Wind Power Plants at various locations in India and 800 kWp rooftop Solar Power Plants at its premises to join hands for carbon neutrality.
