National Aluminium Company Limited has reduced its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices for the second time in a row, with effect from Wednesday, March 16, 2022, in line with the continued sharp decline in LME aluminium price. With the latest cut, NALCO’s aluminium ingot price has come in at INR 281,050-284,550 per tonne, down by INR 24,800 per tonne from INR 305,850-309,350 per tonne on March 11.

Aluminium wire rod price has also seen a slash of INR 24,800 per tonne on March 16 to range between INR 283,550-287,900 per tonne. Since the previous cut by INR 40,600 per tonne on March 11, NALCO’s aluminium wire rod price was being sold at INR 308,350-312,700 per tonne. With effect from March 16, aluminium billets price is standing at INR 284,500-287,150 per tonne versus INR 309,300-311,950 per tonne on March 11.
NALCO links its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices to the three-month future price of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange, which continued to fall sharply by US$254.50 per tonne on March 14 and 15 to stand at US$3,217.50 per tonne. That brought the price lower by US$5.5 per tonne than U$3,223 per tonne during the same period last month.
NALCO’s aluminium products and alumina account for nearly two-thirds of the company’s gross topline, while the sales of chemicals contribute to the rest. NALCO manufactures wire rods, billets, coils, and chequered sheets.
