The metal aluminium is recognized as of the most recycled and recyclable materials in today’s use. As it is said that aluminium beverage can, car door or window frame are often recycled directly back into it and this procedure can happen infinitely. Now depending on the sort of scrap and the required product quality, various types of furnaces for melting aluminium scrap are used.
The North African nation, Morocco is primarily a free-market country with some state control. Since 1990, the government has exceptionally limited its role in the economy, eliminating trade barriers and selling several state-owned enterprises.
Morocco exported 52,499 tonnes of aluminium scrap during 2019-21, which incurred revenue earnings of around 60 million tonnes from the export. In 2019, the aluminium scrap was registered at 13,582 tonnes, counting a revenue inflow of $16.68 million, whereas, in 2020, the export depicted growth by 39.05%, as the export volume surged to 18,886 tonnes, attracting revenue earnings approx. $20.32 million.
The aluminium scrap export for 2021 has been regained its demand by only 6.06%, as the export volume rose to 20,031 tonnes and earnings also soared to $23 million.
Morocco’s export of scrap in 2022 is forecasted to decline by 14.15%, as the export volume is anticipated to remain at 17,196 tonnes, while earnings stand at $18.95 million.
The major trading destinations for Morocco’s export of aluminium scrap are Belgium, China, France, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Spain, etc.
