Profilgruppen reported a 14 per cent increase in third-quarter revenue to SEK 567.6 million (USD57.12 million), but the rise was driven mainly by higher metal prices rather than stronger demand. The Swedish aluminium profile producer delivered 6,850 metric tonnes of aluminium profiles during Q3 2026, down 6.8 per cent from 7,350 tonnes in the same period last year.

Despite the higher revenue, operating profit under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) edged down 1.7 per cent to SEK 28.6 million (USD 2.88 million) from SEK 29.1 million (USD 2.93 million) a year earlier. Under the company’s alternative accounting method, RAN, operating profit fell 37.5 per cent to SEK 3 million (USD 301,970), compared with SEK 4.8 million (USD 483,153) in Q3 2025.

Net income under IFRS increased 14.1 per cent to SEK 20.2 million (USD 2.03 million), against SEK 17.7 million (USD 1.78 million) in the year-earlier quarter. Under RAN, the company recorded a net loss of SEK 200,000 (USD 20,132.20), an improvement from a loss of SEK 4.4 million (USD 443,005). Earnings per share under IFRS rose to SEK 2.6 (USD 0.26) from SEK 2.3 (USD 0.26), while the RAN figure reached SEK 0, compared with a loss of SEK 0.7 (USD 0.07) per share previously.

Cash and cash equivalents stood at SEK 10.4 million (USD 1.05 million) at the end of the quarter, down from SEK 56.5 million (USD 5.69 million) a year earlier.

Profilgruppen CEO calls for stronger profitability measures

Chief executive officer Per Thorsell said the latest results showed that profitability remained below the company’s expectations, with efforts to improve performance yet to deliver a meaningful impact.

“The results for the third quarter show that the company's profitability remains too low. The profitability improvements we have been pursuing have not yet had an impact on the business, and earnings development is essentially unchanged. At the same time, previously announced measures remain to be implemented,” Thorsell stated.

The company plans to intensify its improvement efforts, focusing on commercial management, business-level profitability and more effective allocation of resources. The planned work includes reviewing its customer platform, pricing and business terms, alongside strengthening the data used to assess and monitor profitability.

“The change process now needs to be intensified, with clear accountability and strong execution. Only once these measures have been implemented in the business can the change process deliver the intended effect,” Thorsell added.
