On 18th May 2021, the French government released the names of the new winner of the France Relance plan, in the automotive and aeronautics sectors.
Montupet and Eurocast are two new companies that will be able to benefit from this fund intended to encourage investment and modernization in these industrial sectors.
Since the launch, 588 projects have already been supported under the automotive and aeronautical modernization funds, which represent € 510 million in aid promised by the State for a total investment of € 1.3 billion.
Montupet, the global leader in the design and manufacturer of complex aluminium castings for the global automotive industry with sales and production facilities diversified across several European countries, North America and Asia. It was selected as part of a project to "allow the development and production of new parts (chassis, components for electric motors) by integrating new molding and assembly processes", describes the Ministry.
The second new winner is GMD Eurocast, the European leaders in aluminium die casting and a notable manufacturer of housings and gearboxes. It was selected as part of the “less plastic” project as the GMD group is considered as one of the main French automotive equipment manufacturers. This program "will increase the proportion of recycled material in the parts produced from 16.5% to 25% and thus reduce the consumption of non-recycled material by 9%", explains the Ministry.
