Driven by the pursuit of greater sustainability, the global recycled aluminium industry continues to witness near-daily advancements in innovation. This momentum has now extended to the aluminium wire rod sector, with Kingdom of Bahrain-based Midal Cables, a leading manufacturer and distributor of a wide range of cables, announcing the launch of its new line of recycled aluminium rod products, branded as MiRecAL.
The newly launched MiRecAL product line is available in two key variants, incorporating 15 per cent and 30 per cent recycled aluminium content. It is estimated that these recycled aluminium wire rods can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 29 per cent compared to conventional aluminium wire rod manufacturing processes, underscoring their strong sustainability efforts for a low-carbon economy.
The wire rod, which is built using 15 per cent recycled aluminium, is designed for drawing wires and strips in both conductor and insulated cable manufacturing. This product further offers cable producers a performance-driven solution with a sustainability advantage, providing a competitive edge in meeting their environmental objectives. The company offers the product in its premium range of sustainable aluminium wire rods, in aluminium alloy grades EC1350, EC1370, Al6101 and Al6201, catering to diverse manufacturing and performance requirements.

Another variant, which makes use of 30 per cent recycled aluminium, deals in producing wires and strips for conductor and insulated cable applications. This product also presents cable manufacturers with a responsible, high-performance solution that supports their sustainability targets while enhancing competitive advantage. The firm also offers a premium range of sustainable aluminium wire rods, available in aluminium alloy grades EC1350, EC1370, Al6101, and Al6201.
This initiative has been undertaken under Bahrain's goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2060. The launch shall directly reflect the company's agility towards having advanced sustainability within the industry.
Mr. Khalid A.Latif, CEO of Midal Cables Group, stated, "MiRecAL represents a practical shift toward more sustainable industrial processes. It shows how our industry can actively support national and global emissions targets while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability."
Manufactured in Bahrain, MiRecAL products adhere to international standards, including International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), EN (European Norm) and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and align with the requirements of ISO 14021:2016.
This development reflects Midal Cables' long-standing commitment to responsible manufacturing and further strengthens its contribution to advancing sustainability across the regional and global power and infrastructure sectors.
