METEF 2017 inaugurated: Verona becomes world centre for aluminium sector till June 24

The METEF 2017, the world’s leading expo of customized technology for the aluminium and innovative metals industry, officially opened its doors to the global exhibitors and visitors today, June 21^st, in Piazza Italia. To be held till June 24^th in Veronafierre, Verona, Italy, the mega event found participants showing great enthusiasm on the inaugural day.

The eleventh edition of METEF was inaugurated with the METEF 2017 Innovation Award ceremony followed by a special edition of the FARO meeting dedicated to the Automotive Market Scenario. International experts from Ducker Worldwide and LMC Automotive delivered speeches on new challenges, materials used, technological developments, electrical vehicles and new regulations that will have a large impact on the automotive sector in the coming years.

The opening ceremony was graced by Maurizio Sala President of Amafond, Mario Conserva, President of Metef, and Professor Alberto Cavicchiolo, President – Shonagon among other world-renowned dignitaries.

METEF has a two-decade old tradition of upholding the various dimensions of aluminium processing and other technological metal processing. It is dedicated to primary production to recycling, casting foundry, die-casting, extrusion, rolling, machining and surface treatments: a production chain rich in tradition and know-how.

On an average, the mega event witnesses participation of over 400 leading exhibitors, of which about 30% come from 38 foreign countries. Trading delegations from 20 foreign nations and over 10,000 visiting operators comprising professionals from 60 different countries also congregate at the event venue each year. This year’s METEF is going to be no different. In fact, the event has grown bigger to focus more on the global casting foundry and die-casting industry.

Metef 2017 is going to offer a host of other concurring events. The conference themed on “India-Italy: Industry and Intellectual interchange” will see Maurizio Sala President of Amafond  delivering the introductory speech followed by the addresses of Gloria Gangte, Embassy of India in Rome (Acting Ambassador, Business Officer), Damiano Francovigh General Consul of the Italian Republic in Kolkata, Michele Bauli, President of Confindustria Verona, and Mario Conserva, President of Metef.

In the conference, Industrial cooperation scenarios between India, Europe, Italy and West Bengal will be discussed at length.
