Data shows YoY rise of aluminium plates, sheets and strips export by India

<p>India produces a substantial amount of downstream aluminium products. The country has top companies&rsquo; with their downstream operations. India&rsquo;s total flat rolled products (FRP) capacity stands at about 400,000 tonnes. Balco&rsquo;s Korba rolling plant produced about 18,000 tonnes of rolled products during FY2017 after resuming operations.</p> <p>Based on the flat growth percentage of 25 per cent for the aluminium consumption in 2016, FRP demand should currently be at an approximate range of 600,000-650,000 tonnes. The global demand for flat rolled and extruded aluminium products is projected to grow 5-6 per cent CAGR between 2016 and 2020. In 2015, India exported&nbsp;about 76218 tons of aluminium plates, sheets and strips. The amount increased to 77117 tons in 2016. India&rsquo;s export revenue from these products dropped in 2016. The total value was USD&nbsp;181.93 million. India exported an estimated 15141 tons and &nbsp;4353 tons of aluminium plates, sheets and strips&nbsp; to UAE and Nigeria respectively.</p>
