Mercury Racing, a manufacturer of marine and automotive engines, has introduced the new QC4v 1750 Competition sterndrive engine at the Miami international Boat Show. Mercury Racing claims that the engine is the most powerful engine ever produced by the company.
According to company, “…Producing an astounding one thousand seven hundred and fifty horsepower, the most powerful engine ever produced by Mercury Racing offers massive torque for unmatched acceleration and top-end speeds.”
The new 9.0 litre V8 engine features company’s exclusive aluminium four-valve cylinder heads and dual overhead camshaft (QC4v) valve train. The new turbochargers is added to provide greater airflow for enhanced power and torque, Digital Throttle & Shift (DTS) with one-touch Smart Start and automatic throttle synchronisation, and Zero Effort Digital controls for precise driver control.

The Propulsion Control Module (PCM) is the company’s developed software that offers a boost control valve that continuously adjusts the amount of turbocharger boost needed to provide consistent horsepower.
