Magellan Aerospace Corporation has publicised its decision to join hands in a long-term agreement (LTA) with Collin Aerospace for the production of intricate magnesium and aluminium castings for multiple uses in the military & defense community and the commercial aerospace sector.
Magellan’s factories in Ontario, Arizona, Glendale and Renfrew would manufacture these high-precision magnesium or aluminium components. The company excels in manufacturing and supplying aerospace components all around the territory, alongside being an extraordinary conductor of sand casting techniques.
Magellan claims to be the first company in the additive manufacturing sector to activate 3D sand printing procedures for manufacturing its magnesium or aluminium components. The company has never refrained from investing in revolutionary casting methodologies like automated pouring and finishing, 3D sand printing, robotics and digital radiography.
Aluminium is substantially used in producing aerospace and satellite components due to its heat-resistant and lightweight properties. The non-ferrous metal can endure atmospheric or space stressors and is highly feasible for application in the aviation industry.
