Loftis Steel & Aluminum, a family-owned steel and aluminium fabrication firm headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, has announced a USD 6.5 million investment to establish a new high-tech operation facility in Decatur, further strengthening its regional presence and growth strategy. This expansion will support the creation of nearly 20 new jobs for the people in North Alabama.
The family-owned company specialises in delivering custom metal components tailored for diverse commercial and industrial applications. This upcoming Alabama facility will feature advanced manufacturing capabilities, incorporating state-of-the-art fibre lasers, nitrogen generation systems and precision cutting technologies to enhance production efficiency and quality.
Tom Russell, President & CEO of Loftis Steel & Aluminum, stated, "Loftis selected Decatur for our second base of operation due to its strategic proximity to our Nashville operations. It provides a springboard for us to more effectively service the ever expanding North Alabama market."
The new operation will offer an average starting wage of USD 28 per hour, supporting workforce expansion within one of Alabama's rapidly growing industrial corridors. Local leadership, including Mayor Tab Bowling and regional officials, has expressed strong support for this ambitious project and planned investment in Decatur, strategically located across Morgan and Limestone counties.
Mayor Tab Bowling voiced, "This investment will allow Loftis to better serve the business growth they are experiencing in North Alabama."
On the other hand, Collin Daly, Chairman of the Limestone County Commission, said, "Their USD 6.5 million investment and 20 new jobs averaging nearly USD 28 per hour showcase our county's appeal to quality manufacturers. This expansion strengthens our industrial base and demonstrates confidence in our skilled workforce."
By establishing its distribution operations in Decatur, Loftis Steel & Aluminum will strengthen its ability to serve regional clients while enhancing supply chain support across key industries.
