LME benchmark aluminium price mounts 1.86% M-o-M with an average US$2,100 mark; SHFE ascends 1.1% today

LME aluminium opened at US$2213 per tonne in the previous trading day, with its low and high at US$2211 per tonne and US$2247 per tonne, respectively, before closing at US$2244 per tonne, up US$28 per tonne or 1.26 per cent.

The LME aluminium live price chart on November 20 witnessed a spike in overall aluminium prices, with the LME aluminium cash bid price and the LME aluminium official price increasing by US$26.50 per tonne or 1.22 per cent and US$27 per tonne or 1.25 per cent to officially close at US$2,191 per tonne and US$2,192 per tonne.

If the aluminium price on October 20 is considered, which was US$2,152 per tonne, we can mark a Month-on-Month surge of US$40 per tonne or 1.86 per cent to what it is today.

London Metal Exchange graph displayed that the 3-month bid price and the 3-month offer price soared by US$25 per tonne or 1.13 per cent to stop at US$2,228 per tonne and US$2,228.50 per tonne, respectively.

The December 24 bid price and the December 24 offer price have secured US$20 per tonne or 0.86 per cent, settling at US$2,338 per tonne and US$2,343 per tonne.

LME aluminium opening stock experienced a notable slump of 2,000 tonnes or 0.41 per cent, arriving at 479,775 tonnes. Live warrants stood at 212,875 tonnes, with no calculable change at all. Cancelled warrants halted at 266,900 tonnes, having lost US$2,000 per tonne or 0.74 per cent.

LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price stopped at US$2,235.85 per tonne, up US$23.42 per tonne or 1.06 per cent.

SHFE aluminium price

On November 21, today, the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) aluminium price chart skipped upwards by US$29 per tonne or 1.1 per cent, with the official SHFE price halting at US$2,667 per tonne. When the aluminium price on October 20 is considered, we can see a Month-on-Month escalation of US$72 per tonne or 2.77 per cent.

The most-traded SHFE 2312 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18960 per tonne overnight, with its low and high at RMB 18930 per tonne and RMB 18960 per tonne before closing at RMB 18975 per tonne, up RMB 15 per tonne or 0.08 per cent. 

SHFE 2307 aluminium added RMB 595 per tonne or 3.38 per cent to RMB 18,185 per tonne. The open interest fell 11,785 lots to 256,640 lots.
