LME aluminium price grew for the third day in a row to close at US$2297.5/t; SHFE price climbed US$25/t to US$2761/t

Three-month LME aluminium settled 1.02 per cent higher at US$ 2328 per tonne on Wednesday, April 14, while the price today is expected to hover around US$ 2300-2350 per tonne.

LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME official settle price increased for the third consecutive day by US$ 19.50 per tonne to settle at US$ 2297.50 per tonne on Wednesday, April 14. 3-months bid price and 3-months offer price grew from US$ 2293 per tonne to US$2315 per tonne. Dec 22 bid price and Dec 22 offer price came in at US$ 2335 per tonne, up by US$ 9 per tonne from US$ 2326 per tonne on April 13.

The LME aluminium opening stock further plunged from 1841575 tonnes to 1833550 tonnes. Live Warrants totalled 1301425 tonnes, while Cancelled Warrants stood at 532125 tonnes.

LME aluminium 3-months Asian Reference Price increased from US$ 2284.02 per tonne on April 13 to US$ 2310.75per tonne on April 14.

SHFE Aluminium Price Trend

Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE climbed US$ 25 per tonne to close at US$ 2761 per tonne on Thursday, April 15, 2021.

The most-active SHFE 2105 aluminium contract gained 0.87 per cent to end at RMB 17,980 per tonne in overnight trading. Today, the price is likely to range between RMB 17,800-18,100 per tonne.
