LME aluminium price continues to grow for the fourth consecutive day to US$2565/t; SHFE price declines to US$3087/t

Three-month LME aluminium fell 0.1 per cent to close at US$ 2,529.5 per tonne on Monday, May 10. It is expected to trade between US$ 2,500-2,580 per tonne today.

LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME official settlement price continued to increase for the fourth day in a row to stand at US$ 2,565 per tonne as of Monday, March 10. 3-months bid price and 3-months offer price grew from US$ 2,523.50 per tonne to US$ 2,577 per tonne. Dec 22 bid price and Dec 22 offer price came in at US$ 2,550 per tonne on Monday, increasing by US$ 47 per tonne from US$ 2,503 per tonne.

The LME aluminium opening stock decreased from 1797100 tonnes on May 7 to 1789725 tonnes on May 10. Live Warrants totalled 1223600 tonnes, while Cancelled Warrants stood at 566125 tonnes.

LME aluminium 3-months Asian Reference Price increased from US$ 2,543.81 per tonne to US$ 2,597.87 per tonne.

SHFE Aluminium Price Trend

Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE decreased after four consecutive days of hike to stand at US$ 3,087 per tonne as of Tuesday, May 11.

The most-active SHFE 2106 aluminium contract surged 3.68 per cent to close the day at RMB 20,420 per tonne, with open interest decreasing 18,240 lots to 253,000 lots.

The most-liquid SHFE 2106 aluminium contract fell 1.84 per cent to settle at RMB 19,720 per tonne on Monday night, and is likely to trade between RMB 19,500-20,000 per tonne today.
