LME aluminium opened at US$2,177 per tonne on Thursday, with its high and low at US$2,182.5 per tonne and US$2,154 per tonne, respectively, before closing at US$2,154.5 per tonne, a decrease of US$20.50 per tonne or 0.94 per cent from the previous trading day.
On August 24, the LME aluminium live price chart showed slightly dampening traits, with the LME aluminium cash bid price and the LME aluminium official price lowering by US$9.50 per tonne or 0.45 per cent, to officially close at US$2,119 per tonne and US$2,119.50 per tonne, respectively.
{alcircleadd}The LME aluminium price has fallen by US$97.50 per tonne or 4.39 per cent over this month if we consider the official price on August 1, which was US$2,217 per tonne, as per the data from London Metal Exchange.
The LME 3-month bid price has slumped by US$16 per tonne or 0.73 per cent to close at US$2,162 per tonne, while the LME 3-month official price has shed US$17 per tonne or 0.78 per cent to allocate at US$2,163 per tonne.
The LME December 24 bid price and the December 24 official price have both decreased by US$20 per tonne or 0.85 per cent to officiate at US$2,323 per tonne and US$2,328 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock recorded a drop of 700 tonnes or 0.13 per cent to settle at 527,550 tonnes. Live warrants stood at 243,175 tonnes, and cancelled warrants were parked at 284,375 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price halted at US$2,170.82 per tonne after losing US$11.82 per tonne or 0.55 per cent.
SHFE aluminium price
Today, on August 25, the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) aluminium benchmark price has dipped by US$3 per tonne or 0.12 per cent to lock at US$2,562 per tonne.
Overnight, the most-traded SHFE 2309 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18,575 per tonne, with the lowest and highest prices at RMB 18,525 per tonne and RMB 18,635 per tonne before closing at RMB 18,600 per tonne, down RMB 15 per tonne or 0.08 per cent from the previous trading day.
SHFE 2307 aluminium added RMB 595 per tonne or 3.38 per cent to RMB 18,185 per tonne. The open interest fell 11,785 lots to 256,640 lots.
