Lavazza, the Italian coffee brand, has incorporated aluminium as its coffee pod material to offer the Australian customer base a sustainable experience. The company’s first carbon neutral capsules are the very first types to be introduced in the Australian retail market and, moreover, are compatible with Nespresso.
Owing to the Paris Environmental Act of 2016, many renowned companies are adjusting their ways to fit into a more sustainable approach toward the environment. Lavazza’s carbon-neutral aluminium capsules are the perfect examples of how a company might adopt to draft a ‘Roadmap to Zero’, a sustainability goal to acquire complete carbon neutrality by diverting all primary and tertiary emissions created along the entire industry chain.
The carbon-neutral aluminium capsules’ compatibility with all Nespresso Original machines acts as a boon to the entire diorama.
Lavazza had currently organised a survey to evaluate Australia’s mental approach toward carbon-neutral products and a sustainable lifestyle.
The research concluded that among the 1000 Australians the organisers spoke to, a majority of 90 per cent had heard the term ‘carbon-neutrality’; anyhow, only one in two Australians or 49 per cent, were not confident about the meaning of the term.
Among other social measures, it could be noted that 65 per cent of Australians would wish to shift towards carbon neutrality, with 80 per cent accounting for the separation of rubbish for recycling, 45 per cent siding with public transport or the driving less theory and only a 30 per cent committing to taking fewer flights.
Lavazza signed a deal with CABN, a sustainable holiday package provider assuring a tourism itinerary for Australian coffee lovers to have a wonderful vacation in South Australia’s McLaren Vale region. The offer prevails for the entire month of August when selected customers might win the chance of a two-night stay at the eco-friendly Lavazza-themed compound, CABN X GILES.
Michael Lamprell, CABN founder and CEO, narrated: “Not only are CABN and Lavazza aligned when it comes to our sustainability efforts, but we are impressed by Lavazza’s commitment to striving for a better world.”
“At CABN, we are early adopters of the regenerative tourism principles and can’t wait for Aussies to claim their stay and really embrace it wholeheartedly during their time with us,” he added.
Mimmo Orlando, the Marketing Director APAC, Lavazza, commented: “Since the inception of our ‘Roadmap to Zero’, we’ve made great progress towards our global sustainability goals. The launch of our carbon-neutral capsules in Australia is another exciting step forward.”
“By partnering with CABN, we hope to give our Australian customers a sustainable stay away while showcasing the benefits of prioritising sustainability in their everyday lives. This includes the type of sustainable compatible coffee capsules they can enjoy both in the cabin and at home. We are excited that our customers who take up the offer will be among the first in the nation to try our carbon-neutral capsules and indulge in the smooth, delectable flavours and excellence for which we are famously globally renowned” he explained.
