EDITED BY : 2MINS READ

Keychron has unveiled its latest Q1 Pro keyboard featuring a rigid aluminium body and incorporated software protocols, like QMK or VIA. After the major launch of the Q Series by Keychron, the company started exploring new ways of introducing fully programmable mechanical keyboards, and with the Q1 Pro, it has achieved complete mass production.

Q1 Pro can be considered the first mass-produced aluminium keyboard globally which can be customised with QMK/VIA software systems. The software will be crucial for users to track any key and input shortcuts, commands or key combinations.

The COO of Keychron, Paul Tan, exclaimed: “We’re thrilled to introduce the Keychron Q1 Pro, our latest innovation in the world of custom keyboards.”

“We received rave reviews for Q1, but the one piece of feedback we kept receiving was that they wanted the same great features but in a wireless model. It’s no small feat to get a stable Bluetooth signal to pass through an all-metal body, but with many design iterations and efforts from our team, we’re pleased to announce that Q1 Pro is ready to be our first full aluminium wireless keyboard. It’s designed to revolutionise the way people work on multiple devices,” Tan added.

Keychron Q1 Pro displays a complete metal body forged with 6063 aluminium, which makes the device lighter and more sophisticated. Other specifications of the Q1 Pro include Bluetooth 5.1, hot-swappable keys, south-facing RGB with 22 backlight configurations, an aluminium rotary encoder that generates specific commands like zoom or adjusting volume, a polycarbonate plate, and an extreme battery life of up to 300 hours.

Available through the company’s actual website, these Keychron keyboards are crafted, keeping every aspect of a sustainable future in mind. The company, with the use of aluminium, is proving its dedication towards the negation of harmful carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Since aluminium is infinitely recyclable, its transformation process emits lesser carbon dioxide than the production of primary aluminium, which in turn helps in inducing a circular economy.
