Kam Kiu Aluminium Products Group secures ASI Performance Standard certification

The Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) announced today that Kam Kiu Aluminium Products Group Limited's extrusion plant in Taishan City, China, has been successfully accredited against the ASI Performance Standard for responsible aluminium production, sourcing, and stewardship. Re-melting, casting, mould design and processing, extrusion, coating or anodizing surface treatment are among the facility's 31 extrusion manufacturing lines, which produce over 100,000 tonnes of extrusion profiles annually.

The ASI Certification programme is the first complete voluntary sustainability standard project for the aluminium value chain, and it was established after considerable multi-stakeholder input. With the goal of addressing sustainability challenges in the aluminium value chain, the ASI Performance Standard establishes environmental, social, and governance principles and standards. Under the three sustainability pillars of Governance, Environment, and Social, it lays forth 59 criteria that address critical concerns including biodiversity, Indigenous Peoples' rights, and greenhouse gas emissions.

China Quality Mark Certification Group conducted the independent third-party audit of the Kam Kiu facility.
