Jiayu New Materials Company has recently tackled numerous production challenges and, after extensive trials, successfully established a process route for producing high-performance double-zero foil blanks. A low pinhole rate and exceptional plate-type accuracy characterise these blanks.
"Double zero aluminium foil is one of the high-end products of aluminium processing products, the thickness is less than 1/10 of the hair, because the thickness of the finished product is extremely thin, any inclusions and phases greater than 0.005mm inside the material may increase the pinhole rate on the surface of the material, and too high pinhole rate is easy to cause broken tape," said Wang Xiaogang.
The company has delivered 15,277 tonnes to leading domestic manufacturers of double-zero foil. This year, the product has gained strong popularity among end users, with sales surpassing 10,000 tonnes, exceeding the project's target.
Wang Xiaogang, Process Quality Associate Engineer, explained that producing double-zero aluminium foil substrates demands high purity, superior metallurgical quality, precise chemical composition, and excellent surface and plate quality. The material's internal structure and grain formation also require stringent control, making casting and rolling production challenging. Currently, only a few domestic companies can achieve stable, large-scale production of aluminium substrates.
The company has successfully reached stable mass production by continuously refining its casting and cold rolling processes for double-zero foil billets. When customers manufacture finished products with thicknesses of 0.006mm and 0.007mm, the pinhole rates are 150/m² and 100/m², respectively, meeting ultra-high precision industry standards and earning recognition for product quality from clients.
