In recognition of his outstanding leadership and dedication, Jean Simard, the President and CEO of the Aluminium Association of Canada, has been awarded the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal.
As of October 2025, Jean Simard, President and CEO of the Aluminium Association of Canada, is the only individual from the aluminium industry publicly recognized with the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
“It was with great pride and humility that I was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal last January for my contribution to promoting Canadian aluminium and for my commitment to the arts, at the Fondation du Conservatoire de musique et d'art dramatique du Québec, and at the Petits Chanteurs du Mont- Royal (PCMR),” expressed Jean Simard.
This esteemed honour highlights his exceptional contributions to the aluminium industry, particularly his efforts in promoting Canadian aluminium on the global stage. Additionally, Mr Simard’s work in advocating for the arts further underscores his commitment to both industry and culture.
While the Canadian Coronation Medal program has recognized over 30,000 individuals across various sectors, including public service, healthcare, and education, there have been no other publicly disclosed recipients from the aluminium industry. The program is administered by the Chancellery of Honours and involves nominations from partner organizations, but specific details about recipients from the aluminium sector are limited.
“This honour is extended to all those who have accompanied me over the years in the realization of all these projects and without whom none of this would have been possible. Thank you for this recognition, and many thanks to my family, my loved ones, the AAC team, and the boards of directors that have served since 2009, as well as those at the Fondation du Conservatoire and at the PCMR, for your trust and the renewed joy of working every day to make a difference around us!,” added Jean Simard.
