Aluminium ingot production in Iran rose 24 per cent during the first ten months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2021-January 20, 2022) to come in at 453,436 tonnes versus 364,783 tonnes during the same period last year.

As was announced earlier by Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), aluminium ingot production in Iran rose 61 per cent in the previous Iranian calendar year 1399 (ended on March 20, 2021) to stand at 446,800 tonnes.
IMIDRO also showed that among the country’s top producers, Iranian Aluminium Company (IRALCO) had the best performance last year producing 185,000 tonnes of aluminium ingots.
During the 12th month last year (February 19-March 20, 2021), aluminium ingot production in Iran reached 41,000 tonnes, reflecting an increase of 38 per cent from 30,000 tonnes during the corresponding period last year.
Iran’s annual aluminium ingot production is estimated to grow 63 per cent by the end of the current year (March 20, 2022).
In the previous year, the former industry minister said during the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s biggest aluminium production complex that the aluminium ingot output would likely double with the commencement of the unit.
The official estimated the value of the Iranian mining industry’s production at around $22 billion, adding the country is relatively self-sufficient in minerals. He also highlighted the country’s capacity in mining, saying that Iran ranks 18th among the world’s top aluminium producers and has the potential to achieve the 14th position with the new plant going operational.
By the Iranian calendar year 1404 (March 2025 to March 2026), Iran aims at producing 1.5 million tonnes of aluminium ingot annually.
