India's largest mobile tower installation company, Indus Towers, has signed an agreement with IOC Phinergy (IOP) to deploy 300 zero-emission energy systems to cut diesel consumption at Indus' telecom tower sites.
According to the company's statement, Indus Towers will accelerate its sustainability efforts with this move.
"Indus Towers Limited and IOC Phinergy Private Limited (IOP) have signed an agreement to deploy 300 zero-emission energy systems based on aluminium-air technology to optimise diesel consumption at Indus' telecom tower sites."
Prachur Sah, the CEO of Indus Towers, has articulated the company's commitment to its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) vision, emphasizing its dedication to fostering environmental responsibility, social accountability, and strong governance principles.
Sah added, "Indus Tower's agreement with IOP is a testimony of the company's commitment to build eco-friendly telecom tower sites by investing in solutions for resource optimisation."
IOP is a collaborative enterprise established by the partnership of Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) and Phinergy Ltd of Israel, aiming to produce, market, and provide maintenance for aluminium-air systems in India, leveraging Phinergy's innovative technology.
