The Indonesian government has proposed to extend the safeguard duty on aluminium-zinc coated steel sheet for a further three years, which was set to expire this year. The government apprised the World Trade Organization (WTO) about the extension plan with different tax rates each year, cnmn.com reported.
The tax rate is $245 per tonne in the first year, $185 per tonne in the second year, and $126 per tonne in the third year. The related products are aluminium-zinc coated steel sheet with width above 600mm and thickness below 0.7mm, according to a report published by Shanghai Metals Market.
In January this year, the Indonesian government was considering to extend the safeguard duty on aluminium-zinc-coated flat steel imports.

In 2014, the country’s financed ministry announced that the government imposed the safeguard tariff for a period of three years.
