
India’s imports of aluminium scrap from the US came in at 12,800 tonnes in June 2020, with a month-on-month increase of 205.49%. India had imported 4,190 tonnes in May 2020. On a yearly, basis, imports dropped by 41.55% from 21,900 tonnes in June 2019, as updated by the US Census Bureau.

India imported 123,000 tonnes of aluminium scrap in the first six months of 2020, from 129,000 tonnes imported in the first six months of 2019. That was a decrease of 4.65% or 6,000 year-on-year.
India’s imports of total aluminium (semi-finished products, crude metals and alloy and scrap) from the US stood at 12,900 tonnes in June 2020. Imports reduced by 41.36% year-on-year but increased by 202.82% month-on-month.
In the first half of 2020, total imports came in at 124,000 tonnes, from 130,000 tonnes imported in the first half of 2019. This marked a decrease of 4.62%.
