
As per the data of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), a steady growth is seen in the Indian automobile industry in the first 9 months of the calendar year 2025. With the rise in the overall consumption, a direct implication is seen within the demand for aluminium for the automobile parts, which is highly used in reducing vehicle weight and other manufacturing processes.

Segment-wise performance overview
Segment-wise, passenger vehicles saw a declining trend by 0.31 per cent year-on-year, reaching 3.21 million units.
Nonetheless, a significant growth was witnessed in the three-wheeler and two-wheeler segments, where each rose by 5.56 per cent and 0.89 per cent, respectively, and each sold 0.57 million units and 14.8 million units. Concerning the commercial vehicle, the country noted stable movement, selling 0.71 million units.
An increase of 4.62 per cent was seen in the tractor sales, with the production standing at 0.68 million units. This nudged up the overall year-on-year retail sales by 2.54 per cent, which marks a total sales of 18.58 million units.
In a nutshell, year-on-year India's sales of automobiles rose by 0.84 per cent to 19.3 million units. There was an uptick of 5.96 per cent in the total production, and the total value stood at 23.1 million units in the first nine months of 2025.
