India Energy Week 2026

Edited by : AL CIRCLE

India Energy Week 2026

As the third-largest energy consumer in the world, India currently accounts for approximately 25 per cent of global oil consumption growth. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the nation is pursuing a pragmatic “all-of-the-above” energy approach – a strategy that scales renewable energy while simultaneously maximising the efficiency of traditional fuels. This dual-track framework ensures that as the economy expands, India meets its surging demand and energy security requirements without compromising its low-carbon ambitions.

A global strategy for a growing nation

According to the International Energy Agency, India will account for 25 per cent of global energy demand growth through 2040, positioning it on the same strategic tier as the United States and China in long-term investment models. To manage this growth, India aims to more than double the share of natural gas in its energy mix to 15 per cent by 2030, a crucial step toward diversifying supply and supporting industrial expansion.

Parallel to this, the government has committed to achieving 500GW of non-fossil power capacity by 2030, supported by an estimated  USD 150 billion investment in clean energy projects. These investments arrive at a critical moment as the global community faces tight markets for minerals and infrastructure gaps. Because of India’s immense scale, its domestic progress helps global manufacturers achieve the lower costs and faster deployment speeds necessary for solar, wind, storage, and green hydrogen technologies.

This pragmatic realism extends into the future of the supply chain. From grid digitalisation and battery storage to green hydrogen, Indian companies and start-ups are now deeply embedded in global energy networks. Their involvement strengthens international resilience in a sector where the speed of innovation and cost control are the primary drivers of success.

Why India matters to the world

Ultimately, India’s expanding role in energy will shape international energy markets, influence technology costs, and set new benchmarks for balancing growth with environmental responsibility. As nations race to secure supplies and stabilise prices amid shifting geopolitics and supply chain reconfigurations, India stands as a central force – both as a major consumer and as a primary driver of the clean energy innovation that will power our collective future.

This is why India Energy Week has become a vital catalyst for the global energy community, delivering high-impact outcomes that inform strategic decision-making on a global scale.

The crucial insights and strategic dialogue from more than 550 conference speakers across 120+ sessions, cutting-edge innovations from 700+ exhibitors and the impactful deals that will emerge in Goa between 27-30 January will have long-term implications for the industry.

India Energy Week: accelerating global collaboration

By providing a common platform, India Energy Week 2026 seeks to further accelerate collaboration between global policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators, allowing stakeholders to shape the markets supplying India’s energy needs while opening new opportunities for those looking to participate in the nation’s unprecedented economic expansion.

As more than 75,000 energy professionals prepare to head to Goa, H.E. Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India, says India Energy Week has “rapidly ascended to become the world’s second-largest energy conference” in just three years.

“This event comes at a critical time, as geopolitical shifts are reshaping the global energy order,” he says. “It is imperative that we engage in collaborative dialogue to ensure an inclusive energy transition, acknowledging the continued role of hydrocarbons while accelerating the development of clean energy solutions.”
