{alcircleadd}Our third-party data shows Iceland’s exports of aluminium (both alloyed & non-alloyed) is recording a year-on-year rise for the past three years. This year, however, the country’s estimated volume of exports is estimated to remain flat at 1 million tonnes. Last year in 2018, Iceland had exported the same amount of aluminium, compared to 978,067 tonnes in 2017. Thus, this shows the country’s exports in 2018 grew 3 per cent from 2017. In 2016, on the other hand, Iceland’s aluminium exports were at 861,053 tonnes. Hence, the year 2017 saw a growth of 14 per cent from 2016.

As far as the revenue from the export is concerned, Iceland is estimated to earn US$1552 million this year, compared to US$1554 million in 2018. The year 2017 also witnessed a rise in Iceland’s aluminium export revenue by 40 per cent from US$966 million in 2016.

According to the available data, the Netherlands is estimated to be the key importer of aluminium from Iceland, as the latter is likely to ship 763,324 tonnes to the former in 2019.
