Hydro REDUXA aluminium certified as rolled products

EDITED BY : 1MINS READ

Hydro has received certification for the supply of Hydro REDUXA aluminium as rolled products, extending the low-carbon portfolio. DNV GL, an independent classification society, has certified the company’s entire process chain, down to finished strip and sheet from the rolling mill in Karmøy, Norway, in accordance with the Hydro REDUXA standard.

“This is an important step for Hydro in expanding our low-carbon aluminium offerings. We believe there is demand in the market for these kinds of products across our key segments,” said Einar Glomnes, Executive Vice President for Rolled Products.

Hydro REDUXA, made using renewable energy from hydropower, wind and solar, reduces carbon emissions.

The Karmøy rolling mill can deliver coils or tailored sheet, mill-finished or painted, from several alloys for building applications. First customer orders have already been placed.

“In addition, sheet ingot for rolled products, Hydro REDUXA is available in extrusion ingots, foundry alloys, and wire rod.”
