
Hindalco Industries Limited increased its aluminium products and aluminium ingot prices on Thursday, February 17, following a cut on the previous day. The company raised its aluminium billets price by INR 2,500 per tonne to bring it to INR 295,850 per tonne versus INR 293,350 per tonne on February 16.

Hindalco’s aluminium wire rod price also underwent an increase of INR 2,500 per tonne with effect from February 17 from INR 290,350 per tonne on February 16 to INR 292,850 per tonne. Aluminium ingot price came in at INR 281,750 per tonne, up by INR 2,500 per tonne as well from INR 279,250 per tonne on the previous day.
Hindalco links its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices to the three-month future of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange, which grew by US$59 per tonne on February 16 to US$3,282 per tonne. On a month-on-month calculation, the price thus stood up by nearly US$273 per tonne from US$3,009 per tonne.
Aluminium operations of the company, excluding those of its US arm Novelis Inc., generally account for nearly half of its total sales and 70% of its operating profit.
