Hindalco Industries Limited has awarded a new contract to Tenova for the supply of a state-of-the-art Roll Grinder. This sophisticated machinery, produced by Pomini Tenova, is destined for Hindalco’s renowned Renukoot aluminium plant in Uttar Pradesh, India. The roll grinder will enhance the plant’s hot and cold rolling mills by efficiently grinding work rolls, backup rolls, and auxiliary rolls.
The new Roll Grinder from Pomini Tenova is engineered to operate foundation-free, a testament to its advanced design and efficiency. Key features include:
Pomini Digital Surface Analysis (PDSA): This cutting-edge technology performs precise roll surface analysis with remarkable speed, enhancing safety and reducing reliance on operator expertise.
Pomini Process Monitoring (PPM): Equipped with accelerometers and sensors, the PPM offers constant monitoring of the grinding process, ensuring a consistent quality index and potential cost savings in energy, grinding wheels, and roll material.
Pomini Inspektor: This tool provides meticulous inspection of the roll’s structural integrity, ensuring superior roll surface quality.
The integration of PDSA, PPM, and Pomini Inspektor positions the Pomini Tenova Roll Grinder as a paragon of efficiency and precision. The PDSA significantly diminishes scanning time, while the PPM monitors grinding processes in real-time, optimising operational performance and reducing costs. These technologies collectively ensure that the roll surfaces meet the highest standards of quality, which is crucial for the demanding requirements of aluminium rolling mills.
The Sales Area Manager at Pomini Tenova, Alberto Croce, commented: “We are very proud to have been selected by Hindalco as roll grinder supplier for Renukoot’s plant, especially since this order follows our roll grinder at the Lapanga plant, which has just been successfully tested at our premises. These Roll Grinders feature state-of-the-art technology, delivering outstanding performance, exceptional user-friendliness, and an increased level of safety.”
