Henkel, the new partner of UK Aerosol Recycling Initiative driven by Alupro

EDITED BY : 2MINS READ

Henkel, the world's largest manufacturer of adhesives, sealants, and functional coatings, has joined the UK Aerosol Recycling Initiative. The nationwide campaign, spearheaded by Alupro, strives to raise awareness and education to boost aerosol recycling rates.

“We’re delighted to be partnering with the UK Aerosol Recycling Initiative and supporting its mission to further improve aerosol recycling rates across the UK. At Henkel, we’re committed to contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable future and fostering innovation to embrace the circular economy. Together, alongside businesses from across the aerosol value chain, we can work to make a lasting impact, promoting responsible consumption and best practice recycling,” said Claudia Berto, head of R&D operations (UK/IE) at Henkel.

Henkel has a more than 145-year tradition of championing innovative and sustainable brands and technology throughout the globe. Loctite, Jeyes, Schwarzkopf, and Dylon Dyes are well-known hair care products, laundry detergents, and adhesives in the company's range.

Tom Giddings, executive director at Alupro, said, "As a world-leading solutions provider, partnering with Henkel will prove invaluable to the UK Aerosol Recycling Initiative as we continue to drive change in the aluminium packaging industry.

"Following the launch of our roadmap earlier this year, the initiative has continued to expand and develop. Behind the scenes, we're making important progress towards the next phase of our plan and we're excited to continue working alongside our partners to maximise the recycling of aluminium packaging."

The UK Aerosol Recycling Initiative, launched in September 2022, aims to achieve a national aerosol recycling rate of 50 per cent by 2030. Along with improving consumer education and establishing an accurate baseline, the organisation has cooperated to develop a trailblazing plan to steer efforts towards this aim.
