The highly innovative aluminium casting and extrusion expert, Hammerer Aluminium Industries has commissioned a new filter system at its Ranshofen casting plant.
HAI’s investment of €2 million in environmental protection was made to enhance air quality at the foundry. The new filter system will restrict the emissions and control the legal limits or will be significantly undercut.
HAI in Ranshofen is securing for the future by installing the new filter plant. The extraction capacity has been more than doubled from 76,600 Bm3/h to 160,000 Bm3/h and continuous electronic monitoring of dust levels in the exhaust air, including an automatic alarm, which ensures safety in the foundry.
However, to establish that production can pursue even during maintenance or possible repairs, the extraction capacity was split into two independently operating lines of 80,000 Bm3/h each.
HAI’s foundry in Ranshofen produces around 80,000 tonnes of extrusion billets and rolling ingots per annum for further processing into profiles and component parts - primarily in its own extrusion plants, while the usage of recycled material is over 80 %.
