About the Gulf Aluminium Council
The GAC is a coordinating body formed to represent, promote and protect the interests of the aluminium industry within the region. The council’s main objectives are to provide a forum to develop strategies for common issues and concerns facing the aluminium industry in the Gulf; and to help improving the efficiency of the industry — thereby contributing to its sustainable development. The GAC also supports the successful growth of the primary aluminium industry in the GCC by enhancing the working environment within the industry through the adoption of internationally-accepted and benchmarked safer work practices; reinforcing the regional industry players’ commitment to protecting the environment and safeguarding the health and well-being of communities; and developing a talent pool for the aluminium industry in the Gulf. Through the council, GAC members continually explore opportunities for synergy between their operations — such as logistics and transportation — that will further improve the region’s international competitiveness. Naturally, the GAC also serves as a coordinated voice for the aluminium industry in the Gulf by acting as a representative body for its member base locally and internationally.
